I think you've found the way to write about music that's as new to you as it is to the audience. You describe what it sounds like and then try to put it in a context, and give us a nice little portal into whatever concert hall you were in.

Yeah, I love your reviews. Even for stuff I have no affinity for *cough* minimalism *cough*, I get a real sense of "being there", of what it was like to be in the room for that performance. It amazes me how often reviewers, no matter what the genre, don't convey this.

Paulus' opera The Woodlanders is excellent. I've heard good things about his Postman Always Rings Twice, but I've never been able to find a bootleg.

Um, good friends with the ECM marketing department? :-)

Thanks for the kind words, Henry. And while yes, I am actually friendly with the ECM staff, this particular bounty is just a whole bunch of old stuff that happened to finally be reissued on CD at the same time a few weeks ago, and only in Germany. I sat down and listened to all of it in one big, long nostalgic gush.

Very good to see that there are stil people listening to G. Adams. He was great.

By the way I've been told that the latest CD from Paul Motion is very good.
