The short week evidently did a number on my memory: I wrote that this concert took place on Tuesday night, but it was actually on Wednesday. I am duly chastened, and a correction should be appended shortly has been appended. For a schedule of remaining concerts in the Mannes Beethoven Institute, which runs through Monday, June 7, go here.
Summer institutes at Mannes offer excellent value and distinguished playing; for a complete list of this year's presentations, including the Institute and Festival for Contemporary Performance, the New York Guitar Seminar and the International Keyboard Institute and Festival, go here.
So far there are frustratingly few details available regarding this year's IFCP, an important and under-explored series, but this performance by percussion trio TimeTable (Matthew Gold, Alex Lipowski and Matt Ward) with pianist Yejin Gil on June 20 at (Le) Poisson Rouge looks particularly promising. To whet your appetite, here's TimeTable presenting the premiere of Bernhard Lang's Monadologie IV at (Le) Poisson Rouge last year:Part I Part II Part III
