Takács Quartet at the 92nd Street Y
The New York Times, February 28, 2011
Even if you're not all that interested in reading about one of the world's finest string quartets burning down the house with three works by Schubert, click through long enough to have a look at Times photographer Brian Harkin's amazing shot of the group in action. While I'm on the subject, I'll add that Ruby Washington captured exactly the right moment in the photo that accompanied my review of The Saint of Bleecker Street at the Dicapo Opera Theatre, which ran on Saturday.
That is a great photo, and particular thanks for the vicarious pleasure of this review. I love the Takács and it pained me to not hear them play the D. 887. Nice job.
